Los Californios is the original name of a Band which began
in the late seventies as a conceptual art project along
with Robert Thomas and several other Californian musicians
with and interest in; ethnography, anthropology,
early California History, and playing really great music.
Notable in its creation was the contribution of LeeBirch.
For some time the "Living History Center"( an organization
which used to stage the original Rennaisance Pleasure Faires in
California) had an interest in staging an "Early California" Faire.
Out of this interest a music CD of the Band (at that time) was
created. The CD is available through Bob's endowment at
The Institute for Traditional studies.
